Kenneth Bentele Memorial Fund

Macon Public Library is honored to serve as a memorial recipient for Mr. Kenneth Bentele.  Kenneth served as Board president during the 1990's building expansion process.  He was instrumental in researching tax levies, reviewing building plans, and keeping the process moving smoothly.   We are grateful for the Bentele family's generous support, and the library will continue to benefit from Kenneth's service on the Board of Trustees.

In Memory of George Fant

The library was saddened to hear that longtime Board member, George Fant, passed away.  George guided Macon Public Library through many changes in his twenty-one years of service.  Former director, Kathy Kephart, commented that without George the 1994 addition to the building would not have happened.  His financial expertise and business acumen was instrumental in putting the library on a sound financial foundation.  George will be missed, but his service on the Board of Trustees will continue to reap benefits for Macon Public Library.

Welcome to Macon Public Library's blog!

Public libraries in Missouri this year benefited from the State Arts and Entertainment tax. Our library used this money, paid by outside performers, sports teams, etc. to add videos and audio books to our collection. Patrons can search for these new additions to our collection by typing in A & E Fund 2008 in the OPAC (Bistro card catalog) or by clicking on the links below.
