Friends of the Library
(FOL)
- President: Ellen Gehringer
- Vice President/Secretary: Linda Ellis
- Treasurer: Barby Wilt
Friends of the Library (FOL) are special people who support the library in a variety of ways. They sponsor the book sales, special events and receptions, create bulletin boards and help publicize library services.
FOL hope to add many more exciting things to this list. Unique programs sponsored by the library for adults and children could include card making, nature identification, or basic computer skills.
FOL would also like to have fun nights like a Chick Lit Night, Books Come Alive for children, and Traveling Books Program.
To Become a Friend
Pay your annual dues of $10.00 at the circulation desk and fill out a FOL membership card.
Quarterly meetings are held at 7:00pm, in the library's meeting room.
Anyone interested in promoting and improving the library services at Macon Public Library can become a Friend of the Library.
Involvement
You can chair a committee, be an officer, help from home by making things for storytime, or send cookies for events. You can work at the book sale or help with a library event. You can also be a "quiet" FOL who contributes by paying dues to support these services.
